Practice Lead For Research at Care Quality Commission

Stacey Barnes has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations. Stacey began their career at the University of Bristol as a PhD student and tutor, where they focused on neuroplasticity, acquired brain injury, feminist theory, and bioethics. Stacey presented their research at various national and international conferences and taught undergraduate quantitative methods. Stacey then joined the Office for National Statistics as a Senior Analyst for the Government Research Service before moving on to the Care Quality Commission. At the Care Quality Commission, they held several roles including Research & Survey Officer, Senior Researcher, and Practice Lead for Research. In these positions, Stacey managed patient experience surveys and other research projects to improve patient care, covering various aspects such as development, research design, data analysis, and result dissemination.

Stacey Barnes has a diverse education history. Stacey obtained a PG Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy from the Welsh Psychotherapy Institute from 2021 to 2025. Prior to that, they earned a Ph.D. in Social Neuroscience from the University of Bristol from 2011 to 2015. Stacey also completed an MSc in Human Geography (Geographies of Health) at the same university from 2010 to 2011. Stacey started their higher education journey at the University of Bristol, where they earned a BSc in Geography and French from 2006 to 2010. Stacey also spent a year at Sciences Po, where they received a Diploma in Political Science from 2008 to 2009.
