Clare Spurrell

Clare Spurrell has extensive experience in strategy and communications, currently serving as Director of Strategy and Communications at CARE since September 2015, following a role as Head of Global Communications. Prior experience includes leading communications at the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre and founding Academic Works, an editing service for EFL PhD students. Clare's freelance work encompasses consultancy for the BBC and contributions to various publications, alongside a position as Director of Communications at Togetherall. Earlier roles include Senior Editor & Commercial Creative at iVillage.co.uk/NBC Universal, News and Comment Producer at The Independent, and Public Relations Assistant at Grayling. Clare holds an MSc in Psychology from the University of East London and a BSc in Applied Zoology from the University of Leeds.
