Ujjwala Dheeriya

Ujjwala Dheeriya has over 18 years of experience in the medical field. Ujjwala began their career in 2002 as an Internal Medicine/Pediatrics at Ujjwala Dheeriya MD. In 2004, they became a Hospitalist at HealthCare Partners Medical Group. In 2007, they were a Lead Hospitalist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. From 2009 to 2011, Ujjwala was a Medical Director, Supportive Care Program, Physician- Care Coordination Center, CMO, Torrance Memorial Integrated Physicians ACO, and Hospitalist, Lead at Torrance Memorial Medical Center. In 2011, they were a Hospice Physician at Torrance Memorial Home Health and Hospice. From 2015 to 2017, they were a Regional Medical Officer for Palliative Care at Gerinet Medical Associates and Touch Regional Medical Director at CareMore Health. In 2017, Ujjwala became a Medical Director, Supportive Care Program at CareConnectMD. In 2019, they were an Associate Clinical Professor at University of California, Riverside. Currently, Ujjwala is a Medical Director, Palliative Care at Torrance Memorial Physician Network.

Ujjwala Dheeriya has a long and distinguished education history. Ujjwala attended Smith College from 1988 to 1992, where they obtained an A.B. in Molecular Biology. Ujjwala then attended the University of Virginia from 1992 to 1996, where they obtained a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.). Following this, they completed a residency at Baystate Medical Center in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics from 1996 to 2000. Ujjwala then obtained Board Certification in Pediatrics from 2000 to 2007, and Board Certification in Internal Medicine from 2000 to 2010. In 2010, they began a Board Certified Internal Medicine- Focused Practice in Hospital Medicine, which they are still pursuing. In 2012, they also obtained Board Certification in Palliative Care. Additionally, they obtained a Health Care Leadership fellowship from the California Health Care Foundation in 2014, and is also a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine Leadership Academy I, II, and III.
