Barry Martin Sphr

Barry Martin, SPHR, SHRM-SCP has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of human resources. Barry most recently served as the Director of Human Resources at CareerSource Tampa Bay, where they were responsible for developing and executing the HR strategy for the organization. Barry oversaw all areas of HR, including employee engagement, coaching and mentoring, talent management, compensation, and benefits administration. Prior to this, Barry worked as the Director of the SHRM Maine State Human Resources Council, where they volunteered to support HR professionals in Maine and link them to the national organization. Barry also held the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Skowhegan Savings Bank, where they were engaged in strategic goal setting, policy development, and transforming the HR function. Barry's earlier experience includes serving as the Executive Director of the Tri-County Workforce Investment Board at the Eastern Maine Development Corporation, overseeing member support, grant management, and program compliance. Barry also worked as the Director of Administration at the Maine Department of Labor, Bureau of Employment Services, where they led HR, finance, and IT functions and managed significant grants. Barry has a strong background in HR strategy, change management, and compliance.

Barry Martin, SPHR, SHRM-SCP has a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Maine. Barry also holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the same university. Barry obtained their Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification from HRCI in May 2017 and again in May 2020. Barry also earned the SHRM - Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certificate from SHRM in April 2020.
