Marco Smit

Marco Smit has more than 20 years of work experience in the healthcare, technology, and data industries. Marco has held various leadership positions including Vice President of Business Development at Gesund.ai, where they focus on implementing medical AI in operational environments. Previously, they served as the VP, Head of Data and AI at Caresyntax, leading the company's transition to software and real-world data. Marco has also worked as a Director of Global Business Development and M&A at Roche, where they spearheaded partnership and M&A opportunities in the data and AI space. In addition, they have held executive positions at HealthExpense, Inc., Lynx Biosciences, and Next Innovation Health Partners, among others. Marco's expertise lies in business development, strategic planning, and cross-functional team leadership.

From 1989 to 1995, Marco Smit attended Erasmus University Rotterdam and obtained an M.Sc. degree in Economics. In 1993 and 1994, they also briefly attended ESSEC Business School, but did not earn a degree or specify a field of study.
