Pingping Mao

Associate Director, Clinical Biomarkers at Caribou Biosciences

Pingping Mao has extensive work experience in the field of biosciences and oncology research. They started their career as a PhD student at Dartmouth College, where they conducted research on p53 tumor suppressor and its downstream targets. They then joined the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, focusing on resistance mechanisms in ER+ breast cancer and analyzing genomic alterations in tumor samples. After that, they worked at bluebird bio as a Scientist II, where they conducted translational assays and analyzed complex datasets to investigate mechanisms of response and relapse in CAR T trials. They also led working group meetings and supported conference presentations and manuscript preparation. Most recently, Pingping Mao worked at 2seventy bio as a Senior Scientist in Translational Medicine and Oncology Research. Currently, they hold the position of Associate Director of Clinical Biomarkers at Caribou Biosciences.

Pingping Mao earned a Bachelor's degree in Biological Science and Biotechnology from Tsinghua University in 2009. Subsequently, from 2009 to 2014, they pursued a PhD in Experimental and Molecular Medicine as a candidate at Dartmouth College.
