Carole Schaber has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Carole started their career as a Scientific Officer at Universität Bern in 2004, where they worked until 2007. Carole then joined Caritas Schweiz as a Junior in Development Policy from April 2007 to April 2008, and later became an Institutional Fundraising-Manager from May 2008 to August 2009. In 2009, Carole worked as a Scientific Officer at University of Neuchâtel from September to December. Carole then returned to Caritas Schweiz and held different positions in Programme Collaboration/Management from April 2010 to March 2012. From August to December 2010, they also worked as a Program Officer for East Africa. Carole later became a Programme Director for Mali/Chad from April 2012 to December 2015. From 2016 to July 2019, they served as the Deputy Head of Department Africa/Latin America at Caritas Schweiz, and currently, Carole is the Head of Operations International Cooperation at the same organization. Additionally, they briefly worked at Nadeet as a Collaborator/Fundraising/Administration from January to March 2010.

Carole Schaber completed their Master's degree in Philosophy at the University of Bern from 2000 to 2006. Following this, they pursued further studies at ETH Zürich and obtained a CAS in Development and Cooperation (NADEL) from 2011 to 2013. In addition to these formal qualifications, Carole also engaged in studies in Philosophy, Social Anthropology, and Communication at the University of Bern.
