Grant Sweeney

Grant Sweeney is a dedicated Software Engineer Intern at CarMax, actively developing features using C# .NET and React to enhance an internal web application since June 2024. Concurrently, Grant serves as a CS Head Teaching Assistant at the University of Virginia, providing critical support to over 150 students per semester in Java programming and delivering lectures to larger groups, significantly improving student understanding of complex topics. In addition, Grant holds the position of Professional Development Chair for Theta Tau, where workshops are designed to enhance career readiness among members. Previous experience includes a prior internship at CarMax focused on application development and a role at REI Systems where collaboration on a real-time data streaming pipeline was essential. Grant is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics at the University of Virginia, expected to graduate in May 2025.
