Kai Uwe Barani Schmidt is a seasoned professional in the fields of climate change, governance, and carbon management, currently serving as Co-Owner of NetSch-0 Consultoria Ltda. since January 2024. As a Senior Fellow and Deputy Executive Director for Governmental Affairs at the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs, substantial efforts are focused on catalyzing governance initiatives related to low carbon economies. Schmidt has held significant roles with various organizations, including the United Nations and the World Bank Institute, where responsibilities encompassed high-level coordination of climate action agendas and leading strategic guidance for carbon finance programs.
