Javier Carpinteyro-Ponce is currently a Bioinformatics Research Associate at the Carnegie Institution for Science since October 2022. Previously, Javier was a COMBINE Fellow at the University of Maryland from September 2015 to October 2022, where significant expertise was gained in network biology through comparative gene co-expression networks. As a Doctoral Student at the University of Maryland, development of computational pipelines for studying the genomics of speciation of closely related species took place under supervision. Prior experience includes a Master’s degree in Genome Sciences/Genomics from Langebio-Cinvestav (2013-2015) and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Benemerita Universidad Autonoma de Puebla (2006-2011). Other research endeavors encompassed roles in various laboratories, enhancing skills in evolutionary genomics and molecular ecology.
