Biosphere Sciences and Engineering Deputy Director at Carnegie Institution for Science

Stephanie Hampton serves as the Deputy Director of Biosphere Sciences & Engineering at the Carnegie Institution for Science, where efforts are focused on integrating biological sciences and addressing environmental challenges within a state-of-the-art research facility. Previously, at Washington State University, Stephanie held the position of Professor and directed the Center for Environmental Research, Education and Outreach, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaborations for innovative environmental research. Stephanie's experience also includes serving as Division Director for the National Science Foundation's Division of Environmental Biology, where leadership was provided for research on ecological and evolutionary diversity. Earlier roles included Deputy Director at the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis and Assistant Professor at the University of Idaho, complemented by a strong academic background with a Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Dartmouth College.
