Dan Leers is a seasoned curator currently serving as the Curator of Photography at the Carnegie Museum of Art since 2015. Previously, Dan worked as an Independent Curator from May 2013 to March 2015 and taught courses on the History of Contemporary Photography as an Adjunct Faculty member at the School of Visual Arts from September 2012 to December 2014, as well as at Vassar College in early 2014. Dan held the position of Curatorial Advisor at Fondazione La Biennale di Venezia from April 2012 to May 2013 and was a Beaumont & Nancy Newhall Curatorial Fellow in the Department of Photography at The Museum of Modern Art from June 2007 to December 2011. Dan's early career included experience as a Research Assistant at the Museum of the City of New York. Dan holds a Master of Arts in Art History with a focus on Curatorial Studies from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Lawrence University.
