Siddhartha Banerjee

Siddhartha Banerjee has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Starting in 2009, they worked as an Operations Research Analyst at Sabre Airline Solutions. Siddhartha then transitioned to the role of Senior Consultant at Oracle Retail, where they specialized in Oracle's Markdown Optimization product. In 2012, Siddhartha joined Penn State University as an NLP Researcher, conducting research in natural language processing. Siddhartha later worked as a Research Scientist at Yahoo, focusing on relationship extraction and deep learning for question answering. In 2019, Siddhartha joined Traveloka as a Principal Data Scientist, working on NLP for Universal search and developing real-time query auto correction technology. Siddhartha also served as a Bangkit Mentor at Bangkit Academy in 2020. Currently, Siddhartha is leading data science, AI, and machine learning initiatives as a Data Science, AI & Machine Learning Lead at Carousell Group.

Siddhartha Banerjee completed their Bachelor of Technology in Industrial Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in the years 2005 to 2009. Afterward, they pursued their Ph.D in Information Science/Studies from Penn State University between 2012 and 2016.
