Jay Birchenall

Jay Birchenall is a Mechanical Engineering Manager at Carpenter Additive since October 2021 and has been the Managing Director at Assistech Ltd since August 2013, leading a design engineering company focused on custom component design and R&D in Motorsport and automotive sectors. Prior positions include Manufacturing Engineer at Surface Transforms Plc and Senior Design Engineer at Specialists in Seating, along with roles as a Senior Application Engineer and R&D Engineer in the automotive industry, specializing in CAD modeling and production engineering. Jay also has experience as a HE Lecturer in Motorsports at Myerscough College and has a background in various engineering roles at M-Sport Ltd and other companies. Educational qualifications include a BSc (Hons) in Motorsports, Management & Logistics from the University of Central Lancashire and A-Levels from Sedbergh School.
