Shaji Daniel

Shaji Daniel has extensive experience in research and scientific roles. Shaji began their career at the Indian Institute of Science, where they worked as a Graduate Student, focusing on the Rinderpest Virus and its interactions. Shaji then moved on to the Cleveland Clinic, where they worked as a Research Associate in Molecular Virology, studying the transcriptase and replicase of VSV. After that, they joined Indiana University as a Research Associate, where they studied the CD1d molecule and its role in presenting lipid antigens to NKT cells. Shaji then worked at RetroVirox Inc. as a Scientist before joining the National Institutes of Health, where they became a Team Lead. Currently, they serve as a Research Director at Cartesian Therapeutics.

Shaji Daniel received a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of Bombay in 1991. Shaji then pursued a Master of Science degree in Biotechnology from M. S. University of Baroda, completed in 1993. Following this, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Molecular Virology and Molecular Biology from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in 1999.
