Bo Xuan Hon

Lead Embedded Systems Engineer at Carv

Bo Xuan Hon has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. In 2011, they worked as an Engineering Intern at ST Aerospace. In 2012, they became a Software Engineering Intern at the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Team in the National University of Singapore, where they designed algorithms and implemented solutions for indoor feature extraction and feature-based Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping. They also contributed to the design of electronic systems for a Micro Aerial Vehicle.

In 2013, Bo Xuan Hon joined the same team again as a Software Engineering Intern, where they produced a C++ framework for Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping, improved accuracy and stability of feature extraction algorithms, and assisted with aeronautics related design choices for an unconventional unmanned aerial vehicle.

In 2014, they became a Software Engineering Intern at Sony Corporation, where they implemented and analyzed compression algorithms for depth data from RGB-D sensors. They introduced novel methods of data entropy reduction and selective depth range compression, improving compression ratio and time.

Since 2015, Bo Xuan Hon has been working as the Lead Embedded Systems Engineer at Carv by MotionMetrics. They have assumed multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment in London and Shenzhen. Their role involves leading the development of electronics, embedded systems hardware, and firmware for sports wearable devices. They have also contributed to the development of deep learning solutions for ski technique analysis.

Bo Xuan Hon completed a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Imperial College London. Bo Xuan attended Imperial College London from 2011 to 2015. Prior to that, they attended Hwa Chong Institution from 2003 to 2008, but no degree or field of study was specified for that period.
