Thiago Galvão

Thiago Galvão has extensive experience in the field of information security and technology. Thiago is currently serving as the Director and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for Grupo Casas Bahia. In this role, they are responsible for the digital security journey of all companies within the group, including e-commerce, physical retail, banking, logistics, and manufacturing. Thiago oversees various areas such as cyber security, identity and access management, IT risk management, and fraud prevention. Prior to joining Grupo Casas Bahia, they held the position of Executive Manager and CISO at Banco BS2, where they focused on improving cyber security, data privacy, IT risk management, and fraud prevention. Earlier in their career, Thiago also served as a CISO and Data Privacy Officer at VLI Logística and held leadership roles in information security and IT risk management at Yara International and Gerdau. Thiago started their career as an IT consultant at Stefanini Brasil and worked as an IT external auditor and advisor at KPMG. With their extensive experience and expertise in information security, Thiago has made significant contributions to various organizations.

Thiago Galvão has a diverse education history that showcases their expertise in various fields. Thiago completed a Postgraduate Degree in Neuroscience and Human Behavior at Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul in 2023-2024. In 2021, they attended Stanford University for an Advanced Course in Cyber Security and Executive Strategy. Additionally, they obtained Advanced Courses in Cyber Security: Managing Risk in the Information Age from Harvard University in 2020 and Privacy and Data Protection from Insper Instituto de Ensino e Pesquisa in the same year.

In 2016, Thiago attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for an Advanced Course in Cybersecurity: Technology, Application, and Policy. Thiago also completed an Advanced Course on Tackling the Challenges of Big Data at the same institution in 2014. Moreover, they hold a Postgraduate Degree in Project Management from FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas, which they earned from 2004-2006.

Thiago's educational journey began with a Graduate degree in Technology from Centro Universitário UNA, which they completed from 2000-2003. In addition to their academic achievements, they have obtained certifications such as CDPSE from ISACA in 2020, CISA from ISACA in 2011, CRISC from ISACA in 2010, MCSO from Modulo Security Solutions in 2004, and has certifications in COBIT from ISACA, ITIL from EXIN, and LA 27001 from BSI Tecnologia.
