Conor McKenzie

Conor McKenzie has a diverse work experience in the field of taxation and legal matters. Conor is currently serving as the Vice President of Taxation at Casella Waste Systems, Inc. since April 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Taxation at the same company from August 2021 to April 2022.

Before joining Casella Waste Systems, Inc., Conor worked at Ernst & Young, LLP for a span of 10 years, starting from October 2011 to August 2021. Conor held the role of Senior Manager in State & Local Tax - Financial Services Office. In this position, they provided tax advice to various businesses, including partnerships and corporations, on issues related to income franchise, sales and use tax, and transfer taxes. Prior to Ernst & Young, LLP, Conor worked at Deloitte Tax, LLP as an Associate in Multistate Tax Services from June 2010 to October 2011. Conor'sclients belonged to industries such as pharmaceuticals, bio-tech, and software.

Conor's early career included roles at the Massachusetts Appellate Tax Board and the Superior Court of Massachusetts. At the Massachusetts Appellate Tax Board, they worked as a Law Clerk from June 2009 to August 2009, conducting research and drafting decisions on taxation matters. At the Superior Court of Massachusetts, Conor served as a Law Clerk to the Justices from September 2005 to August 2006. In this role, they provided extensive assistance to the Justices in business, civil, and criminal litigation.

Conor McKenzie's education history begins with their B.A. degree from Union College, where they majored in English and minored in Classics. Afterward, they attended the University of Connecticut School of Law, where they earned their J.D. degree. Following their J.D., Conor pursued further legal education at the Boston University School of Law, specializing in Tax Law and obtaining their LL.M. degree. Apart from their academic credentials, Conor McKenzie also holds additional certifications. In 2005, they were admitted to the Massachusetts Bar by the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers. Furthermore, in 2009, Conor obtained admission to the US Tax Court.
