Dr. Constance W. Rice

Dr. Constance W. Rice has a diverse work experience that spans several decades. Dr. Constance W. has held various leadership roles and made significant contributions in different organizations.

Dr. Constance W. started their career as the Chairperson of Ethnic Studies at Shoreline Community College from 1974 to 1978. Dr. Constance W. then worked as the Manager of Community Relations at Metro from 1981 to 1984.

In 1992, Dr. Rice became the Vice Chancellor of Institutional Advancement at the Seattle Community College District. During their time there, they spearheaded a $30 million fund drive and developed a legislative plan for the system. Dr. Constance W. also co-founded the CITIES project, which integrated technology into coordinated studies classrooms.

Moving on, Dr. Rice served as the Interim President of North Seattle Community College from 1995 to 1997. Dr. Constance W. successfully managed the accreditation process, secured approval for a $14.3 million technology center, and raised over $1 million for student scholarships.

In 1997, they became the Senior Vice Chancellor of the Seattle Community College District. In this role, they were responsible for education planning, distance learning, and faculty development for three community colleges. In 1999, Dr. Rice founded the Strategic Education Centers, a nonprofit organization focused on supporting the educational evolution of children in Africa and the United States.
