Martin Markovic

Martin Markovic has a diverse range of work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Martin is currently working as a Senior Finance and Operations Manager at CasperLabs, where they support the development of the Casper Network and promotes blockchain adoption among businesses. Prior to this, Martin was the Head of Finance (CFO) at BlueOrchard Finance Ltd, a global impact investment manager, where they managed the finance department and executed key projects. Martin also served as a Finance & Administration Manager at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), supporting operations in conflict-affected areas and promoting humanitarian efforts. Martin has experience in the natural resource sector, having worked at Glencore as a Trade Accountant and Consolidation Controller, where they handled financial reporting, accounting, and advised subsidiaries on financial procedures. Additionally, Martin gained diplomatic and consular experience as an Intern at the Swiss Embassy and insight into the banking industry as an Intern at UBS. Martin also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Swiss Armed Forces, contributing to peacekeeping efforts in Kosovo.

Martin Markovic completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Business Management at the University of St.Gallen from 2003 to 2006. As part of their bachelor's degree, they also spent a semester abroad at the KEDGE Business School in 2005.

Martin then pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Accounting & Finance at the University of St.Gallen from 2007 to 2010. During their master's program, they participated in an exchange semester at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez in 2009, focusing on Business Administration and Management.

In terms of additional certifications, Martin Markovic obtained the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification from the IMA | Institute of Management Accountants in August 2013.
