Pete McCarthy FRAeS is an accomplished professional in human factors and aviation safety, currently serving as the Head of Group Human Factors for Cathay Pacific Airways since July 2019. In addition to this role, Pete has been a Senior Lecturer and Lecturer in Human Factors and Accident Investigation at Cranfield University since July 2014. An experienced Aircraft Accident Investigator for the British Army and the Air Accident Investigation Branch since January 2012, Pete has a diverse background in aviation safety, having held the position of Aviation Safety Director at uVue from July 2015 to January 2019 and directing human factors training at LSC Human Factors Ltd in 2013. Pete’s educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Aviation Safety focused on Human Factors from Cranfield University, along with multiple postgraduate certificates and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from The Open University.
