Silviu Makkai

Silviu Makkai, MD, PhD, is a general surgeon with experience in robotic surgery as a first assist in general and thoracic surgical cases. He received his degrees from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iasi, Romania, the only Romanian medical school included in The Times Higher Education World University Ranking. Dr. Makkai specializes in laparoscopic colorectal surgery, bariatric surgery and advanced parietal surgery. He has practiced in Luxembourg with Dr. Juan Santiago Azagra, a worldwide pioneer in laparoscopic surgery. Dr. Makkai has a University Diploma in Surgical Endoscopy obtained from the University of Strasbourg in collaboration with IRCAD and the Institute of Image-Guided Surgery. His post-doctoral studies include course work in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
