Carolyn Farino

Carolyn Farino has extensive experience in product design and user experience, particularly in emerging technologies such as virtual and augmented reality. Carolyn is currently the Director of Product Design at Cavrnus, Inc., where they are responsible for developing the product experience for their real-time metaverse platform. Prior to that, they worked as a consultant and founder of carolynfarino.com, where they created immersive virtual and augmented spatial experiences for multiverse platforms.

Carolyn also has experience in the VR industry, having been a member of the inaugural cohort of Oculus Launchpad as a VR Experience Design and Content Creator. Carolyn has also worked at Meta Co., an augmented reality hardware startup, where they served as the Director of Product UX and Creative. In this role, they led the design group and was responsible for UX strategy and architecture for their AR cloud-based ecosystem.

Before their work in emerging tech, Carolyn had experience in healthcare and enterprise platforms. Carolyn was the Product Design Director at SocialCare by Health Symmetric Inc., where they focused on developing secure and multi-cloud electronic health platforms. Carolyn also worked as the Director of User Experience at BLITZ, where they led the UX discipline and worked with lifestyle brands on their direct-to-consumer user experience. Additionally, Carolyn worked at SK+G Advertising as the Principal UX/Information Architect, where they introduced and demonstrated the value of the UX discipline across the agency.

Carolyn's career began at Microsoft Corp, where they worked for eight years as a Principal Product UX and Art Director. Carolyn was responsible for designing various initiatives, including the Windows Vista OS Games Explorer and Plus! for WindowsXP.
