Christopher Sims

Christopher Sims has a diverse and extensive work experience. Christopher is currently the CEO of CAVU, starting in 2021. Prior to that, they worked as the President of Sigao Studios, a position they held since 2014. In this role, they focused on building great teams and products by promoting servant leadership, entrepreneurship, and risk-taking.

From 2019 to the present, Christopher served as a Partner Coach at Scrum Inc. Additionally, they worked at Centralized Alabama Recipient Eligibility System (CARES) as the Deputy Program Director from 2014 to 2016. In this role, they led a team of over 100 individuals in developing a state-wide eligibility system while implementing agile methodologies and improving communication across multiple teams.

Earlier in their career, Christopher worked as a Project Manager at the Center for Advanced Public Safety, University of Alabama from 2009 to 2014. Here, they focused on building a consulting practice related to Health and Human Services applied research. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Software Specialist at NHS Management, LLC. from 2007 to 2009. In this position, they started as a software developer and expanded their responsibilities to include designing and building advanced decision support systems.

Furthermore, Christopher has experience as an Executive Coordinator at Bates Enterprises, Inc. from 1999 to 2007, where they managed IT budgets and developed marketing and sales strategies. Christopher began their career at the City of Sylacauga, Alabama Utilities Board as an SCADA Systems Analyst from 1998 to 2000. In this role, they designed and built a central control system and implemented advanced remote visualization techniques to reduce operating costs.

Christopher Sims attended The University of Alabama, where they studied Management Information Systems, General. Christopher also attended Sylacauga High School. In terms of certifications, Christopher obtained a Project Management Certificate from The University of Alabama College of Continuing Studies in September 2013. Christopher also obtained various certifications from Agile Education by Scrum Inc., including Registered Product Owner™, Registered Scrum Master™, Registered Scrum Trainer™, Registered Scrum@Scale Practitioner™, and Registered Scrum@Scale Trainer™.
