David Magness

David Magness is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in the media and music industries. Currently serving as Finance Director at CBS News since April 2012, David oversees the financial and operational management of a major television news bureau, handling a budget of $30 million across multiple entities. Prior to this role, David was Managing Director at Breakin Bread Records, focusing on record label management and event promotions. Previous experience includes Head of Finance at Shakespeare's Globe, Managing Director at Boombox Distribution Network, and Management Accountant at HMV Retail Ltd. David began a career in finance at KPMG UK, completing a traineeship in audit and accountancy. Educational qualifications include an ACA from ICAEW and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from The University of Sheffield.
