Kathy Butler

Kathy Butler is an experienced media professional with a robust background in news operations and editing management. Current role as Director of Operations at CBS News since September 2007 involves overseeing personnel and facilities for the 24x7 news operation, including major broadcasts such as CBS Evening News and CBS This Morning. Prior to this, Kathy served as Manager of Editing Operations at NBC News from March 1996 to September 2007, where responsibilities entailed directing a large editing team for television news magazines and various broadcasts. Earlier experience includes a position as Scheduler at Murray Hill Studios from 1991 to 1996, managing editing and tape duplication operations. Kathy Butler holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies from Rowan University, obtained between 1988 and 1990, along with an Associate's degree in the same field from UCNJ Union College of Union County, NJ, earned from 1986 to 1988.
