Vernon Denegar has extensive work experience in various leadership roles and security positions.
In 2003, they worked as a Detail Member in the Ambassador Protection Detail (APD) for DynCorp International, where they provided personal security for Ambassador Robert Finn and Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad.
From 2006, Denegar served in the Ohio Army National Guard as a Special Forces Operations Sergeant. In this role, they supervised, trained, and mentored subordinates, established and enforced policies and procedures, and prepared schedules for SFODA subordinates.
In 2009, Denegar joined Global Strategies Group (GIS) as a Team Leader (PSD), responsible for supervising a Personal Security Detail assigned to protect designated DOD personnel in high threat environments. Vernon coordinated security personnel activities, liaised with internal and external groups, and performed administrative tasks.
From 2011 to 2019, Denegar worked as a WPS PSS Member at Triple Canopy, where they carried out personal security duties. This was followed by their role as a Team Leader at Cincinnati Bell from 2013, where they provided leadership within the organization.
Most recently, Denegar worked as a Team Leader - Service Delivery at CBTS from January 2019, and subsequently in the same role at CBTS from February 2019.
Vernon Denegar earned a Bachelor's degree in Security Management from American Military University, which they attended from 2008 to 2012. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications, including "Intro to Service Management with ITIL® 4" from LinkedIn in April 2021. Other certifications include "Learning Design Thinking: Lead Change in Your Organization" (May 2020), "CompTIA A+ (220-1001) Cert Prep 4: Storage and Peripherals" (April 2020), "CompTIA A+ (220-1001): Cer Pre 2 Microprocessing and RAM" (March 2020), "CompTIA A+ (220-1001): Cert Prep 3 Core Hardware" (March 2020), and "CompTIA A+ (220-1001) Cert Prep 1: The Basics" (February 2020). Vernon has also completed various LinkedIn certifications and professional development courses, such as "Setting Team and Employee Goals" (February 2020), "Managing Multiple Generations" (January 2020), "Lead Like a Boss" (August 2019), "Learning IP Addressing" (July 2019), "Managing Experienced Managers" (July 2019), and "Coaching and Developing Employees" (May 2019).
