Jared Newell, GISP, is an experienced GIS Specialist at CDM Smith, focusing on environmental and civil engineering projects related to water, utilizing geospatial data, LiDAR, and hydrologic models for flood hazard products since September 2010. Prior to this role, Jared worked as a Research Fellow at Boston University, contributing to remote sensing and GIS projects, and as a GIS Specialist at Epsilon Associates, where responsibilities included GIS dataset development and cartography for various sectors. Jared also served as a Hydrologic Technician for the US Department of the Interior, gathering field data and managing water rights databases, and worked as a GIS Analyst for Weston Solutions, supporting post-Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.
