Nadia Sanchez Macedo has worked in a variety of roles in the medical and scientific fields since 2007. In 2007, they were a Research Intern at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry, where they conducted in vitro and in vivo research in developmental neuroscience and molecular biology. From 2009 to 2014, they worked at the UniversitätsSpital Zürich, first as a Research Assistant and then as a Postdoctoral Researcher. During this time, they conducted pre-clinical research and drug testing for metastasized cancer, revised scientific manuscripts, designed laboratory protocols and wrote fellowship applications. In 2015, they began working at TOPADUR PHARMA AG as a Senior Scientist in Preclinical Pharmacology, where they were the study director of two in vivo pharmacology projects. Nadia also worked as a Preclinical Studies Consultant from 2022 to 2022, providing support and consulting for preclinical study design, drafting and reviewing of grant proposals, ethics applications, animal experimentation license proposals, scientific manuscripts, SOPs and slide decks. Most recently, Nadia worked at CDR-Life Inc. as a PK/PD Expert in Translational Sciences, where they designed and coordinated all in vivo PK/PD related strategies to support appropriate dose regimen decisions for CDR-Life clinical candidates, supervised IND-enabling in vivo PK/PD studies with CROs, and contributed to clinical and preclinical documents that enable regulatory submission.
Nadia Sanchez Macedo completed their High School at Colegio Italiano Antonio Raimondi from 1998 to 2001. Nadia then obtained their Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna from 2002 to 2005. Nadia further obtained their Master’s Degree in Molecular and Industrial Biotechnology from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna from 2005 to 2008. Following that, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Oncology and Cancer Biology from ETH Zürich from 2009 to 2013. Most recently, they obtained their Certificate of Advanced Studies in Pharmaceuticals – From Research to Market from ETH Zürich from 2016 to 2019. Additionally, they obtained three certifications: FELASA C: Training of persons responsible for directing animal experiments (study directors) from the Federation of European Laboratory Animal Science Associations in 2015, Clinical Investigators I: Basic GCP and clinical research training course from the Clinical Trial Unit Bern in 2014, and FELASA B: Introductory Course in Laboratory Animal Science - Rodents from the Federation of European Laboratory Animal Science Associations in 2009.
