Tiana Starke, SHRM-CP, has been working in Human Resources since 2009. Tiana began their career at the Internal Revenue Service as a Contact Representative/Clerk, where they assisted individuals, small business owners and corporations with tax-filing issues and helped international tax filers acquire Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITIN). Tiana received perfect performance evaluations. In 2012, they joined the University of Kansas Medical Center as an International Services Senior Advisor, where they served as Principle Designated School Official (PDSO) and Responsible Officer (RO) in SEVIS system for F-1 and J-1 Exchange Visitor programs. Tiana also oversaw all immigration advisement for KU Medical Center and was responsible for filing H-1B petitions and other employment-based petitions. Additionally, they served as Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) in SEVIS system for F-1 Student and J-1 Exchange Visitor programs. In 2013, Tiana moved to Children's Mercy Hospital, where they worked as an HR Compliance Coordinator. In this role, they centralized immigration efforts for all CMH campuses, advised international employees on visa-related issues and managed immigration-related cases. Tiana also ensured onboarding compliance by monitoring and administering licensure verification, background checks, I-9 and E-Verify reporting. In 2018, Tiana joined CEDR Solutions as a Senior Human Resources Advisor/Member Engagement Lead and HR Advisor.
Tiana Starke, SHRM-CP obtained their Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and International Studies from the University of Central Missouri in 2008. In 2006, they completed a semester abroad at Teikyo University in the Maastricht Center for Transatlantic Studies. In May 2016, they obtained the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification from SHRM.
