Roy Ong is the Chief Customer Management & Digital Experience Officer at Celcom Axiata Berhad. Roy was previously the Chief Marketing Officer at 2degrees NZ Ltd from February 2016 to January 2019.

2degrees is a New Zealand mobile and broadband network provider that was launched in 2009. The company has built a national 2G, 3G and 4G network and has significantly lowered the cost of mobile for Kiwis. In early 2015, the company acquired internet service provider Snap to become a full service telecommunications provider.

Under Roy's leadership, the company grew to over 1,000 employees with a mix of over 40 different nationalities. 2degrees' shareholders include US-based mobile communications specialists, Trilogy International Partners, Tesbrit BV and Hautaki Limited.

Roy's role at 2degrees was to inspire the business to deliver on their brand promise by challenging the market and creating 2degrees adorers through uncovering breakthrough insights, developing compelling customer value propositions, innovating with unique and relevant product offerings based on customer needs and communicating with New Zealanders by building compelling and engaging customer experiences.

Thanks to Roy's efforts, more than a million New Zealanders now enjoy 2degrees' Prepaid, Pay Monthly, Business and Mobile Broadband products.

After completing a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Auckland, Roy Ong undertook a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing at the University of Otago. Roy then pursued a career in finance, completing a Finance for Executive Programme at INSEAD.

Their manager is Allan Bonke, Chief Commercial Officer. Some of their coworkers include Kugan Thirunavakarasu - Chief Emerging Business Officer, Chee Loo Fun - Chief Consumer Business Officer, and Danny Chew - Chief Sales Officer.
