Christopher Woelk

Christopher Woelk is an accomplished professional in the fields of genomics and bioinformatics, currently serving as Vice President and Head of Platform at Cellarity since April 2024. Prior to this role, Christopher held the position of Vice President and Head of Translational Genomics at Verge Genomics from September 2022 to March 2024. Christopher has extensive leadership experience, including roles as Head of Systems Biology at Merck's Exploratory Science Center, where Christopher served as Executive Director from July 2017 to September 2022. Christopher's academic credentials include a PhD in Virology and Molecular Evolution from the University of Oxford and a BSc in Biochemistry and Genetics from the University of Nottingham. Over the years, Christopher has held various academic positions at institutions, including the University of Southampton and UC San Diego, where Christopher contributed as a professor and director in genomics and bioinformatics initiatives.
