Alessandro Merlino

Alessandro Merlino has over 30 years of experience in the field of Human Resources. Alessandro has held various senior leadership positions, including Senior Vice President Human Resources - International Business Group at Cencora since 2022. Prior to that, they served as Vice President Human Resources, Alliance Healthcare at AmerisourceBergen from 2021 to 2022. Alessandro also worked as the VP, HR Director Pharmaceutical Wholesale Division at Walgreens Boots Alliance from 2020 to 2021. From 2015 to 2020, they were the Human Resources Senior Vice President at Lottomatica/IGT, where they were responsible for managing complex corporate transformations, reorganizations, and restructuring projects. Before that, they held multiple HR roles at Bristol-Myers Squibb Italy and Johnson & Johnson, where they gained extensive experience in industrial relations and international HR projects. Alessandro Merlino obtained a Laurea/Law degree from Sapienza Università di Roma from 1981 to 1986. In 1987 to 1988, they pursued a Master in business administration at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. Prior to that, from 1976 to 1981, they attended Liceo Classico Augusto in Roma for their high school education in classics. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained various qualifications such as INSEAD - Leading Organisations in Disruptive Times, SDD Jun 2020 - Business strategy in the age of digital disruption, Professional Coaching (ICF) trained, Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP), Executive Consulting trained, Project mgmt Leadership, Green Belt Certification (GB), and Project Management Trainer at different institutions and years.
