Amy Sheafer is the current Director of Human Resources Business Partner at Cengage. Amy has over 23 years of experience in Human Resources, with a focus on Talent Optimization, Retention, and Development. Prior to their current position, Amy served as a Board Member for the Literacy Council of Clermont and Brown Counties from May 2015 to November 2018. Amy also spent over 22 years at Fifth Third Bank, where they served as an HR Business Partner, AVP from July 1995 to March 2018. In this role, they partnered with Commercial Payment Operations and Retail Banking to provide support for Talent Optimization, Retention and Development including Individual Development Planning based on Competency Models, Recruiting Strategy and Support, Management of Staffing Models, Performance and Talent Management, and more. Amy also has experience in Enterprise Learning, having served as a Regional Learning Manager and Facilitator at Fifth Third Bank. In addition to their HR experience, Amy has also held several Retail Banking roles at Fifth Third Bank including Financial Center Manager, Office Manager, and Teller.
Amy Sheafer has a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Wilmington University and a certification from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate. Amy is currently pursuing a degree in Business Management from the College of Arts and Sciences at Ohio University.
Amy Sheafer reports to Jeri Herman, Senior Vice President of Human Resources. They work with Ged Houghton - HR Director, Kathy Good - Senior Talent Acquisition Partner, and Hayley Levine - Talent Acquisition Partner. and Matt Davis, MPA-HRM - HR Leader - Sales reports to Amy Sheafer.
