Craig Shales

Craig Shales is a seasoned mining professional with extensive experience in managerial roles within the coal industry. Currently serving as Mine Manager at Centennial since January 2024, Craig also holds a long-term position as Mine Manager at Lake Coal since August 2015. Previous positions include Group Manager Business Improvement at Whitehaven Coal from July 2022 to March 2024, and Business Development Manager at Peabody Energy from May 2018 to September 2022. Craig's earlier experience includes Development Superintendent at Centennial and Undermanager/Mining Engineer at Donaldson Coal. Educationally, Craig is pursuing a Master of Business Administration with a focus on Applied Finance at the University of Newcastle and has completed degrees in Ventilation from UNSW and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining Engineering from the University of Wollongong.
