Bill Rapp

Art Director at Center for American Progress

Bill Rapp has a diverse range of work experience spanning over several years. Bill began their career in 1991 as a Lead Graphic Designer for the 9:30 Club, where they were responsible for all graphic design and promotional materials. In 1992, they joined Ernst & Young Mid-Atlantic Health Care as a Production Department Manager, a role they held until 1995. In the same year, they co-founded Topeka Media Design, where they served as a Co-Founder until 2010. From 2005 to 2015, they worked at Third Way as the Senior Manager of Design. In 2015, they founded Signal2Noise LLC, a creative communications consulting firm, and served as a Principal until 2018. Bill also worked as an Adjunct Instructor at Maryland Institute College of Art and American University School of International Service starting in 2017. Most recently, they held the position of Art Director at the Center for American Progress from 2018 onwards.

Bill Rapp received a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Ithaca College between 1982 and 1986. Bill then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Professional Studies degree in Information Visualization from the Maryland Institute College of Art between 2014 and 2015. In addition to their formal education, Bill Rapp also completed the "Data Exploration and Storytelling" certification program provided by the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas in January 2017. Furthermore, they have an additional certification in "Tufte Data and Information Seminar," however, the institution, as well as the month and year of obtaining the certification, are unknown.
