Peter Gordon

Director, Government Affairs at Center for American Progress

Peter Gordon has a diverse work experience in government affairs and legislative positions. Peter is currently the Director of Government Affairs at the Center for American Progress. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Federal Affairs at Americans for the Arts and as an Associate Director of Government Relations at the Council on Foundations. Peter also worked as a Government Relations Specialist at the National Association of College Stores. Peter began their career in politics as a Legislative Assistant and Legislative Correspondent in the U.S. House of Representatives. Peter previously worked as a Staff Assistant and an Intern in the United States Senate. Peter's work experience also includes a role as a Work Study Student Supervisor at Williams College.

Peter Gordon earned a BA degree in History and Political Science from Williams College, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. Following this, they pursued a Masters degree in Public Policy from Georgetown University, from 2009 to 2012. In addition to their formal education, Peter Gordon obtained certification in Adult First Aid/CPR/AED from the American Red Cross in February 2020.
