Sandy Patel is a communications professional with extensive experience in advocacy and public service. Currently at the Center for American Progress since May 2015, Sandy contributes to the Enough Project, focusing on combatting genocide and crimes against humanity through rigorous analysis and public engagement. Additionally, Sandy serves as President at the University of Missouri-Columbia since February 2018 and previously founded the MU African Interdisciplinary Studies Hub to promote interdisciplinary efforts under the Chancellor's Diversity Initiative. Past roles include overseeing various student services as Secretary of Auxiliaries within the Department of Student Life, interning at the U.S. House of Representatives, and serving as a Legislative Assistant for the Office of the Lieutenant Governor. Sandy holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Communication, with an emphasis on Public Service and Leadership from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
