Alan Amici

President and CEO at Center for Automotive Research

Alan Amici has a diverse work experience in the automotive industry. Alan currently serves as the President and CEO of the Center for Automotive Research. Alan is also a member of the Industrial Engineering Advisory Board at Wayne State University and a Member of the Board of Advisors at Penn State Harrisburg.

Previously, Alan held the position of Vice President at DeMaioribus and Associates LLC from February 2021 to August 2022. Prior to that, they worked at TE Connectivity, where they served as the Vice President and Chief Technical Officer - Transportation Solutions from September 2017 to February 2021. Alan also held the role of VP Engineering - Automotive Americas from April 2015 to September 2017.

Prior to their time at TE Connectivity, Alan worked at Fiat Chrysler in various leadership roles. Alan served as the Head of Global Uconnect from September 2013 to April 2015. Alan also held the position of Head of Electrical and Electronics Engineering from September 2011 to August 2013 and from June 2009 to August 2011. Additionally, they worked as the Chief Engineer for the A/B Segment from December 2008 to June 2009 and as the Director of Project D Vehicle Development from November 2007 to December 2008. Alan started their career at Fiat Chrysler in September 2005 as the Director of Body Electronics & EE Architecture.

Before joining Fiat Chrysler, Alan worked at DaimlerChrysler as a Senior Manager in Global Service & Diagnostics from July 2003 to July 2005. Alan also had a role as a Senior Manager - Resident Engineering at DaimlerChrysler Huntsville Electronics from September 1997 to December 1999.

Alan Amici has a strong education background in engineering and business. From 1982 to 1985, they attended the University of Michigan where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Alan then pursued further studies at the same university from 1985 to 1987, obtaining a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering. Alan continued their education at the University of Michigan, graduating in 1993 with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. Currently, they are a PhD candidate in Industrial and Systems Engineering at Wayne State University, where they have been enrolled since 2019.
