Christine Kidd

Director, Constituent Advancement at Center for Employment Opportunities

Christine Kidd is currently the Director of Constituent Advancement at the CENTER FOR EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES INC. Prior to this, they served as a Government Innovation Fellow in Rhode Island with the Government Performance Lab at Harvard Kennedy School from September 2013 to July 2016. In this role, they were responsible for supporting a 27% decrease in dropout rate among pregnant and parenting students, and a 10% decrease in 9th grade student retention rate in 2011-2012 school year. Christine also implemented and modified Student Leave/Maternity Leave policy; which resulted in a 93% school-return rate post-maternity leave and on time grade-level promotion of 13/15 students who gave birth in 2011-2012 school year.

From July 2011 to July 2013, Kidd served as District Outreach Worker for Chelsea Public Schools, with a focus on 9th grade and expectant/parenting students. In this role, they developed and implemented a data tracking tool to allow for systematic outcomes measurement for expectant and parenting students within the school database. Christine also designed and ran a tiered system of attendance interventions, resulting in a 17% drop in 9th grade students in violation of the school attendance policy; which led to improved GPAs and promotion rates. Additionally, they increased support staff capacity for accessing child care vouchers and other community supports for pregnant and parenting students.

Christine Kidd has a Master's in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School and a BA in Policy Management from Dickinson College.
