Center for Mindful Psychotherapy
Carly Kontra, PhD, is a Somatic Therapist at the Center for Mindful Psychotherapy, a position held since August 2025, after serving as a therapist trainee at the Center For Somatic Psychotherapy from May 2024 to July 2025. Carly is currently a student in Somatic Psychotherapy at the California Institute of Integral Studies, with an anticipated completion date in May 2025. Prior to this, Carly had extensive experience in behavioral science, having held various roles at Humu from November 2017 to November 2022, including Principal Behavioral Scientist and Head of Behavioral Science. Additionally, Carly worked in research and analytics at Medallia and was a Freelance Editor at Cactus Communications. Research activities at the University of Chicago focused on behavioral and neural consequences of sensorimotor experience, among other topics. Carly earned a PhD in Cognitive Psychology/Neuroscience from the University of Chicago in 2014 and a B.S. in Biological Sciences with a minor in Dance from The George Washington University in 2008.
