Allison Bowers

Director, Customized Training & Corporate Engagement at Central Piedmont Community College

Allison Bowers has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Allison started their career as a Personnel Supervisor at Adia Personnel Service. Allison then worked as a Personnel Assistant at USAF - Non-appropriated Funds, where they were responsible for recruitment and screening. Following that, they worked as a Staffing Consultant at MyStaf, where they developed relationships with hiring managers and conducted training workshops for temporary employees.

Allison then transitioned to the role of Human Resources Analyst at Howmet Corporation, where they interviewed and hired temporaries and led the Human Resources department at a subsidiary site. Allison later joined Kelly Services Inc. as a City Manager, overseeing budget operations and client retention.

In 2004, Allison became the Business & Industry Manager at DavidsonWorks, where they collaborated with Economic Development and provided HR consulting services to new businesses. Most recently, they have been working as the Director of Customized Training & Corporate Engagement at Central Piedmont Community College. In this role, they developed strategic relationships with businesses, delivered comprehensive training, and designed a needs analysis tool.

Throughout their career, Allison has demonstrated strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.

Allison Bowers obtained a Master of Education (MEd) degree in Training & Development Leadership from Northcentral University, where they studied from 2006 to 2009. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from Park College, studying there from 1990 to 1992.

Additionally, Allison has obtained several certifications throughout their career. These certifications include Everything DiSC® Certification-Virtual from Everything DiSC®, DDI Facilitator Certification Process Workshop from DDI | Development Dimensions International, Strategic Human Resources Business Partner Certification from HCI, and MBTI Certified Practitioner from CAPT. Allison also completed Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Training & Examination from North Carolina State University - IES Division. Furthermore, they have obtained certifications in Basic Mediation from The Resolution Group and Position Classification from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM). The obtained years for these certifications range from 1995 to 2023.
