Stephen Canning

Stephen Canning, CPA, CA, CTP Dipl Can has a diverse work experience. Stephen started their career at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Senior Associate in the audit and assurance group, where they worked on various audit clients. Stephen also had a short secondment in the Professional Technical, Risk, and Quality group.

Stephen then moved on to Aecon, where they held roles as Manager of Accounting Research and Senior Manager of Financial Reporting. Stephen managed Aecon's Corporate accounting team and significantly improved the relationship between Corporate Finance and Aecon's divisions. Stephen also led the transition to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) successfully.

Currently, Stephen is working at CAMH as a Director of Planning and Strategy. Prior to this, they held positions as Director of Clinical Operations and Planning and Senior Portfolio Manager of Clinical Transformation and Special Projects. In these roles, Stephen played a crucial role in developing a portfolio vision, outcome statements, and goals for the Clinical Programs at CAMH. Stephen was also responsible for financial planning for clinical portfolios and achieved significant savings targets.

Stephen Canning, CPA, CA, CTP Dipl Can completed their Bachelor of Business Administration degree at Wilfrid Laurier University from 2001 to 2005. In 2013, they began pursuing a CTP Diploma at the Centre for Training in Psychotherapy (CTP), with the diploma still in progress.
