Brian O'Rourke

Chair Of The HTA Steering Committee And Member Of The Scientific Advisory Council at CIRS - Centre for Innovation in Regulatory Science

Brian O'Rourke is an accomplished health economics and outcomes research professional, currently serving as the ISPOR President for 2023-24 and previously as President Elect and Chair of the HTA Council at ISPOR since July 2019. With a rich background in health services, O'Rourke holds the honorary title of Colonel Commandant for the Royal Canadian Medical Service and chairs the HTA Steering Committee at the CIRS—Centre for Innovation in Regulatory Science. O'Rourke's previous roles include President and CEO of the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health, overseeing the Common Drug Review, and serving as Board Chair of the International Network of Agencies for Health Technology Assessment. O'Rourke has also held leadership positions in the Canadian Forces Health Services and the Department of National Defence, contributing significantly to health service delivery and policy. O'Rourke earned a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Dalhousie University.
