Pedro Ferrara P. da Rocha is an accomplished marine researcher with a Master's degree in Marine and Coastal Systems from Universidade do Algarve and a degree in Oceanography from Universidade do Vale do Itajaí. Currently serving as a researcher at the Centre of Marine Sciences (CCMAR) since March 2021, Pedro is involved in developing technology for fisheries monitoring, conducting fieldwork, video analysis, stakeholder communication, deep-sea shark and ray taxonomy, and laboratory analyses. Previously, Pedro worked as an oceanographer at Acquaplan Tecnologia E Consultoria Ambiental from April 2017 to July 2018, where responsibilities included environmental impact assessments, monitoring programs, taxonomy of benthic macrofauna, and data analysis. Earlier experience includes a research position at Universidade do Vale do Itajaí, focusing on practical teaching, fieldwork coordination, and processing benthic macrofauna samples.
