Sean Ernst, CISSP

Sean Ernst has over 18 years of work experience in the field of information technology and cybersecurity. Sean is currently serving as the Vice President of Information Technology at centrexIT since September 2021. Prior to this, they worked as the Director of Technology at the same company from January 2019 to September 2021.

Before joining centrexIT, Sean held the position of Manager of Client Services from January 2013 to September 2017. In this role, they focused on ensuring a positive experience for clients by delivering excellent service and providing career guidance to the technical team. Sean also played a key role in driving continuous improvement initiatives and conducting research and development for new IT software and methods.

Prior to their managerial role, Sean worked as a Senior Systems Engineer at centrexIT from June 2008 to January 2013. In this role, they provided support to numerous clients and was a member of the Research & Development team.

Sean began their career as a Field Technician at CMIT Solutions in 2007 before transitioning to the US Navy in 2003. During their time in the Navy, they served as an IT3 and provided support for a large number of users and desktops onboard the USS Nimitz.

Throughout their career, Sean has developed expertise in areas such as service delivery, technical training, continuous improvement, research and development, and user support. Sean holds a CISSP certification, demonstrating their proficiency in information security.

Sean Ernst, CISSP, holds an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General, which they obtained from Grossmont College in the years 2010-2012. In addition to their academic achievements, they have also acquired the following certifications: Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) from Scrum Alliance, obtained in September 2021; and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)², obtained in May 2022.
