Rob van der Mei

Rob van der Mei is a distinguished Professor and Research Leader at CWI since April 2004, specializing in Stochastic Operations Research, with extensive experience in establishing research collaborations and public-private partnerships. Additionally, Rob serves as Manager Research & Strategy and Industrial Liaison Officer at CWI, overseeing acquisition and valorisation efforts. Rob has held multiple leadership roles, including Head of the Research Cluster Probability, Networks, and Algorithms, and has contributed to academic excellence as a part-time Full Professor in Applied Mathematics at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam since 2003. Previously, Rob worked as a Senior Scientist and Consultant at TNO Information and Communication Technology and KPN Research, and as a Senior Staff Member at AT&T Labs, focusing on performance analysis of ICT systems and telecommunication networks. Rob obtained a Ph.D. in Operations Research from Tilburg University and an M.Sc. in Mathematics and Econometrics from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
