Laurent Bellon

Laurent Bellon is a seasoned professional in the biotechnology and life sciences industries, currently serving as Sr. Vice-President of R&D and Sr. Vice-President of Global Operations at Cepheid since August 2018. Prior to this role, Laurent held the position of Chief Operating Officer at GenapSys, Inc. from 2017 to 2018. Laurent's extensive experience includes leadership positions at Thermo Fisher Scientific and Affymetrix, where responsibilities spanned across product development and global operations. Laurent's career began at Isis Pharmaceuticals as a Visiting Scientist and progressed through various roles at Ribozyme Pharmaceuticals, Applied BioSystems, and Affymetrix. Laurent earned a Ph.D. in Bio-Organic Chemistry from the University of Montpellier, France, between 1989 and 1992.
