Abouzar Yousefi has extensive work experience in health, safety, and environmental (HSE) management. Abouzar is currently the Global Head of Health and Safety at CEPSA, where they have defined and implemented an Excellence Plan aligned with corporate strategies and safety vision. Abouzar is deeply involved in promoting HSE leadership and fostering cultural change across multiple operational sites in different countries.

Prior to CEPSA, Abouzar worked at Repsol from 2006 to 2022. Abouzar held various roles during their tenure, including Global Head of Safety and HSE MS - E&P. In this position, they led the Major Accident Hazard Management Project globally and engaged in the implementation of management systems according to ISO requirements in all operating sites. Abouzar also contributed to the digitalization of HSE processes and participated in the development of Corporate and Business Unit HSE procedures.

Before Repsol, Abouzar worked at Petroiran Development Company as a Drilling QHSE Manager, Drilling Engineer, and Process Engineer from 2002 to 2006. Abouzar also worked as a Process Engineer at Consultant Engineering Co from 2001 to 2002.

Overall, Abouzar Yousefi has a strong background in HSE management, with experience in defining safety strategies, implementing management systems, and promoting cultural change.

Abouzar Yousefi obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Environmental, Chemical and Materials Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid from 2016 to 2020. Prior to that, they earned a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology from 2001 to 2003. Abouzar also holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemical Engineering from Petroleum University of Technology, which they completed from 1997 to 2001. Additionally, they have received various certifications, including IWCF Level 2 - Drilling Well Control Programme - Surface BOP Stack from International Well Control Forum in 2017, Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training (OPITO), including HUET plus Emergency Breathing System from Falck in 2017, Certified Process Safety Professional (CCPSC) from AIChE - American Institute of Chemical Engineers - CCPS - Center for Chemical Process Safety in 2017, Auditor/Lead Auditor (ISO 9001: 2008 Series Standards) in 2009, Auditor/Lead Auditor (OHSAS 18001:2007 Series Standards) in 2008, and NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health in 2007.
