Marvin Tom

Marvin Tom serves as the Vice President of Software Engineering at Cerebras Systems since July 2019, where leadership encompasses a diverse team of machine learning practitioners and software engineers focused on various technologies. Prior to this role, Marvin Tom was the Senior Director of Software Engineering at Intel Corporation from November 2017 to July 2019, overseeing a global team responsible for the development of the Quartus FPGA compiler. Marvin Tom’s earlier experience includes a tenure at Xilinx from June 2006 to November 2017, progressing from an individual contributor in algorithm development to Director of Software Engineering, leading the Vivado place and route team. Marvin Tom holds a Master of Applied Science in Computer Engineering from The University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering from Simon Fraser University.
